Aviva Goldhaber is one of the teachers at Park East Enrichment Center. She received her Master’s in Education from Queens College and has been one of the kindergarten teachers at Park East Day School for many years. Aviva previously worked as a Hebrew School teacher for children with special needs. Currently, she teaches third grade in our center. Each week, the class focuses on infusing a love of Torah and Jewish values through teaching about the Jewish holidays, the customs, Shabbat and State of Israel. It is the school’s goal to instill in each child a Jewish identity and pride. A large part of the dynamic curriculum is also learning how to read and write Hebrew. The special events throughout the year, such as the Chanukah Celebration, Purim Carnival, and Model Passover Seder enhance the children’s understanding and gives them a meaningful connection to Judaism.
